From the experience to evidence: A hybrid global conference for doctors, students, and researchers featuring keynote lectures, innovations in male contraception, and a hands-on No-Scalpel Vasectomy training course.
The event will examine the role of midwives in advancing male contraception, with emphasis on the scope of practice, clinical protocols, and referral pathways for vasectomy. Sessions will address family-planning responsibilities, couple-centered counseling strategies, and quality standards for integrating services into SRH care. An exchange with international experts will benchmark experiences and highlight best practices.
World Vasectomy Day’s main event: a 24-hour hybrid celebration in November, live from La Plata, Argentina, with doctors on site, and streamed worldwide from 6:00 PM Nov 13 to 6:00 PM Nov 14. We’ll travel the world virtually, meeting and exchanging ideas through themed panels, testimonies, interviews, videos, and live links to health teams running outreach and vasectomy days.

Formal gathering for provincial authorities, executives, and interdisciplinary teams working toward the celebration of World Vasectomy Day.

A local physician trained by World Vasectomy Day in 2024 will teach a course on no-scalpel vasectomy for medical residents, combining basic theory with practice on a life-size anatomical simulator. Their mentors will be on hand to support the training with demonstrations and case discussions, reinforcing skills and encouraging more physicians to become trained in the technique.

Three-day intensive program in two public hospitals to empower doctors as local leaders and multipliers. The training combines supervised practice and mentoring to help new trainers accompany their peers, standardize quality, and expand access to vasectomy services.

Additionally, there is a 3-day program at the largest public hospital in the province of Buenos Aires that will train doctors in NSV techniques. With supervised practice, management of common complications, and follow-up circuits to ensure consistent results.

The Male Contraceptive Initiative will lead a workshop to present key findings from its global study on male contraception: demand, user preferences, and partner perceptions. The program will address opportunities for the region and practical considerations for healthcare providers and policymakers.

While reproductive rights and choices are polarizing societies, and people are paralyzed by divisive social norms, Dr. Esgar Guarin shares stories of hope and possibility from inside America’s only mobile vasectomy clinic.

Six clinics will operate simultaneously, offering vasectomies, while the hospital holds a health fair promoting comprehensive care for men who access the service. International doctors will work alongside local teams to reach the milestone of 60 procedures in one day, strengthening capacities and expanding access.

In addition, the Mobile Clinic will be at hospitals throughout the week. Also, we will present an exhibition of finalist works from the Ministry of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires Photography Contest, which will be on view.

ICFP 2025 in Bogotá marks the conference’s first time in the LAC region, uniting SRHR leaders to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, and drive progress under the theme “Equity Through Action: Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for All.” WVD will contribute: The Responsible Men’s Club, increasing Male Engagement in Zambia; WVD Connect, a digital platform; and WVD Academy, showcasing the results of doctors’ training.
