WVD is excited to announce the opening of its first vasectomy clinic, the Langiza Chikondi Men’s Health Clinic, in Lusaka, Zambia.
This new facility marks a significant step in enhancing men’s health services in the region, offering crucial reproductive health options often overlooked in traditional settings. The clinic aims to serve as a model for similar initiatives across the continent and globally, promoting active male participation in family planning and improving community well being.
The clinic’s lead surgeons, trained by Dr. Michel Labrecque, a renowned expert from Canada , bring extensive experience to their roles, having performed over 300 procedures. They are equipped to deliver top quality care, providing a safe, effective, and permanent contraceptive option through vasectomy.
In addition to vasectomy procedures, the Langiza Chikondi Men’s Health Clinic will offer comprehensive services, including counseling and education, general men’s health services, and act as a Centre of Excellence for Men’s Health. The clinic’s mission is to dismantle the stigma surrounding male reproductive health and encourage men to seek essential services proactively.
By creating a dedicated space for men’s health, the clinic aims to foster open dialogue and proactive health management. This initiative seeks to break down barriers and promote a culture where men in Zambia feel empowered to address their health needs.
WVD, with over 1,200 participating providers in more than 40 countries, is the world’s largest male focused family planning event. Our mission is to engage men in discussions about reproductive health, offering education, services, and support to empower them in managing their reproductive futures and contributing to a more compassionate world.
