Vasectomy is growing in Argentina, becoming a powerful tool for many men who want to make decisions about their reproduction. While promoting greater equity in contraceptive decisions, vasectomy is, for many men, the gateway to the healthcare system, expanding opportunities for comprehensive care.

Desde Argentina, donde el Río de la Plata será testigo, en noviembre, del evento sobre anticoncepción masculina más grande del mundo, tengo el gusto de darles la bienvenida al boletín de WVD del mes de mayo.
Argentina no solo es tango, mate y fútbol. Es también una tierra marcada por el compromiso con los derechos humanos y las luchas colectivas.
Es la tierra donde los feminismos han florecido con fuerza y creatividad, marcando el rumbo a nivel regional. Desde las calles, las aulas y los hogares, la agenda de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos ha abierto caminos hacia una sociedad más justa y equitativa.
Es la tierra donde las nuevas formas de habitar las masculinidades no son solo consignas: son también prácticas cotidianas que se forjaron al calor de los procesos sociales. Varones que construyen vínculos más afectuosos, que buscan participar activamente de la planificación familiar y que encuentran en la vasectomía, no sólo un método anticonceptivo eficaz, sino también una forma de cuidar y de cuidarse.
La vasectomía está creciendo en Argentina, volviéndose una herramienta poderosa para muchos hombres que quieren decidir sobre su reproducción. A la vez que promueve mayor equidad en las decisiones anticonceptivas, la vasectomía es, para muchos hombres, la puerta de entrada al sistema de salud, ampliando las oportunidades de atención integral.
