Welcome to the January 2026 Newsletter!

Dear Doctors, Colleagues, and Friends of WVD,

Another year has passed, and we are deeply grateful to all of you for what we’ve accomplished together—and even more excited about what 2026 will bring.

From day one, the strength of our movement has depended on the generosity and unwavering commitment to excellence from doctors, nurses, medical staff, and clinical administrators. Together, we have emerged as leaders in family planning and sexual and reproductive health.

Thanks to all of you—but a special acknowledgment goes to the nine doctors who joined us in Argentina to celebrate WVD 2025. To our leaders, Dr. Doug Stein (USA) and Dr. Michel Labrecque (Canada), and to all those who traveled from near and far—Dr. Esgar Guarin (USA/Colombia), Dr. John Curington (USA), Dra. Eloisa Gonzalez (Mexico), Dr. Nick Demediuk (Australia), Dr. Melanie Cote-Savard (Canada), Dr. Alex Galante (USA), and Dr. Pablo Pizzi (Chile)—it was truly an honor and a pleasure to share that week (and that wine!) together. I would be remiss not to mention Dra. Ana Cepeda and Dr. Gustavo Cavazzutti who started as trainees and are now full fledged trainers! Both their warmth and commitment to the cause was extraordinary.

Plans for 2026 are currently underway, and the newsletter will continue to be published monthly. And for that, a special recognition is well deserved for Dedra Smith and Visule Kabunda, who did not miss a single issue in 2025 and continue to demonstrate that same commitment moving forward.

In honor of the work of our doctors and medical teams—and of the brilliant Ski and Hiking Retreat hosted each year by Doug in Frisco, Colorado—as always, we are dedicating the first issue of 2026 to our physicians, nurses, midwives, and all medical support representatives. The articles are written entirely by your colleagues, who have once again taken the time to share their knowledge and experience. THANK YOU, Jean-Philippe Bercier, Ana Cepeda, John Curington, Martin Kittel, Michel Labrecque, and Devon Turner.

We look forward to our webinars, dialogues, newsletters, training missions, and, of course, our November celebration. We hope that even more of you will contribute or join us as we continue to fulfill our purpose and potential in supporting men, women, families, and even the planet.
