Sheila has chosen to focus on her new family, and is leaving us this month. She joined WVD in 2016 as Jonathan Stack’s assistant, and from the very beginning, it was clear she was destined for leadership. Year after year, she took on greater responsibility, meeting every challenge with intelligence, grace, and determination. Her impact has been especially profound in Africa, where she helped establish WVD’s strong and lasting presence.
In 2024, Sheila oversaw the launch of our first clinic and Center of Excellence in Zambia, a milestone achievement. She has hosted countless hours of our annual Global Vasectomy-athon, founded the Responsible Men’s Club, and guided the CIFF-funded permanent method project with clarity and strength. Through it all, she has been a fierce and inspiring leader.
Jonathan says, “One of the greatest joys of my work is mentoring the next generation of leaders. Watching Sheila grow into the powerful woman she is today has been deeply rewarding. I have often said that no one speaks “WVD-ese” more fluently than Sheila.”
We are proud of her, grateful for all she has given, and honored to have been part of her journey. Sheila, good luck—and even as your life’s journey takes you to new horizons, know that you will always have a home here.
