Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving. I am thrilled to share some of our recent accomplishments and upcoming activities with you. Our dedicated vasectomy champions and all those who believe in our work have been instrumental in advancing our mission across the world, and I am incredibly proud of their efforts and achievements.
Over this past month, our vasectomy champions took the initiative to link reproductive health with environmental sustainability on World Earth Day. Their efforts were met with enthusiasm and sparked meaningful conversations about the role of family health and acts of positive masculinity in achieving a sustainable future. They have also actively participated in World Menstrual Hygiene Day, an event that breaks male taboos and promotes menstrual health. This workshop not only addressed menstrual hygiene but also introduced the concept of vasectomy as part of comprehensive family planning education. By doing so, they empowered women and girls with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Lastly but definitely not least, the vasectomy champions worked with the Zambian blood bank to donate blood to the government hospital. All these acts of love are a testament to the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines the WVD Champions.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our upcoming vasectomy providers training on no-scalpel vasectomy in Uganda. This training is part of our ongoing efforts to increase the availability of skilled vasectomy providers across Zambia and Uganda. By equipping healthcare providers with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to expand access to vasectomy services and provision. The training will cover the latest techniques and best practices in vasectomy procedures, ensuring that providers can offer safe, effective, and compassionate care to their patients. Zambia is also preparing to host World Vasectomy Day in November 2024, where they went from seven vasectomies in 2022 to 194 in 2023. This will be the first-ever WVD celebration in southern Africa. So, stay tuned!

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved for their commitment to improving reproductive health and promoting sustainable practices.
